PM Surya Ghar subsidy for a 3 kW system

The official PM Surya Ghar portal states central assistance of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the additional 1 kW, making the central subsidy ₹78,000 for an eligible 3 kW residential installation. The subsidy is capped at ₹78,000 for systems larger than 3 kW.

Final eligibility depends on current scheme rules, residential connection status, approved workflow, DCR-compliant equipment, DISCOM inspection and successful commissioning.

Roof area, generation and savings

Required roof area depends on module dimensions, layout, setbacks, access paths, shading and mounting method. Generation varies with location, orientation, tilt, temperature, losses and maintenance. Savings also depend on tariff and how imported and exported electricity are settled.
